A wafer type electric butterfly valve is a control valve similar to the pneumatic butterfly valve described earlier, but instead of being actuated by compressed air or gas, it is operated using an electric actuator. The key components of the valve, such as the butterfly disc, valve body, and sealing mechanism, are typically the same as in the pneumatic version.

Here are the main features and characteristics of a wafer type electric butterfly valve!
1. Top flange meets the standard of ISO 5211 fitting driving devices such as handle, gearbox, motorized and pneumatic actuators.
2. Using flat stem without pin of connection, driving & reliable sealing of double direction were strengthened and allowing the disc standing freely in the middle of line, and reducing the torque of opening & closing valve and isolating completely media so that eliminate leakage & corrosion.
3. Using advanced technology of surface treatment for casting of coating epoxy indoor & outdoor, coated surface is specious and the performance of proof-corrosion is more superior.
4. Electric Actuator: The electric actuator is the key component responsible for automating the valve operation. lt receives electrical signals from a control system, which could be as witch, a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), or a DCS (Distributed Control System). Based on these signals, the actuator will either open or close the valve by rotating the disc.
5. Sealing: To ensure a tight shut-off when the valve is closed, the wafer type electric butterfly valve is equipped with sealing elements, often made of rubber or other elastomers, around the disc perimeter.
The main advantage of an electric butterfly valve over its pneumatic counterpart is that it does not require a separate air supply or compressed gas system for operation. This can simplify the overall setup and reduce the need for maintenance associated with pneumatic systems.
